Resonic K is our solution for small test objects. By combining a conventional air-bearing pendulum and a unique positioning adapter, Resonic K achieves an outstanding combination of simplicity, speed, and accuracy – especially for objects light enough to be lifted by hand.

Highly repeatable positioning principle

Easy and accurate mass property measurements of small test specimens

Overview

Accurate

Combines a frictionless air bearing with a highly repeatable positioning adapter.

Failproof

Combines an easy process with quality indicators.

Simple

Combines a fast and easy measurement procedure with low hardware complexity.

Unlimited work space

No limit to the horizontal dimensions of the test object.

Low-maintenance

Almost maintenance-free when combined with the optional calibration cylinder.

Able to handle even smallest objects

Can be easily scaled down to tiny objects weighing a few grams.

Examples

Typical applications

Automotive

Crash test dummy parts (head, torso, upper leg, etc.), tires, engine parts, suspension parts

Motorcycle parts

Wheels, forks, handlebars, helmets, crankshafts, gear components

Aerospace

Satellite components, electronics modules, CubeSats, drones

Power tools

Drills, drivers, rotary hammers, chainsaws

Sporting goods

Golf clubs, tennis rackets, helmets, bike wheels, balls, sports pistols and projectiles, skeet rifles

Others

Compressors, articulated optics modules, robot end effectors

Comparison

Resonic K is best suited for applications in which the test objects are light enough to be lifted by hand. When test objects become heavier, the P, F, S, or G technologies will be more suitable.

Resonic P adapters facilitate the handling of heavier and larger specimens while using the same kind of conventional air-bearing pendulums and the same measuring principle as Resonic K.

For significantly heavier and larger objects, it is usually preferable for the test object to remain in the same position on a horizontal platform throughout the measurement, as is the case for Resonic F, Resonic S, and Resonic G.
